Swedish (Svenska)
The main classification of Swedish is an East Scandinavian language. It was derived from the North Germanic group of languages such as Danish, and Norwegian. Much like the majority of other East Scandinavian languages, the German Viking populations and Old Norse populations spoke it fluently when they roamed the entirety of Scandinavia.
In the world there are approximately 8 million people who fluently speak Swedish. The language itself is the official language of Sweden and is also known as one of the official languages in Finland.
